Here at UniPlace we believe in stories and we want to hear yours. On Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22, Chicago storyteller Rebecca Anderson (2nd Story, The Moth, This Much Is True, Do Not Submit) will be in Champaign to help you craft a story you would like to tell – a true story about something that happened to you which impacted you in some way. Some stories are funny, some sad, some inspiring, some just interesting or revealing. Your story matters to us.

You know a great story when you hear it – but what makes it work? In this weekend workshop, you will be introduced to the craft of storytelling, strengthen your style, and use structure intentionally and creatively for maximum impact. Offer and receive the kind of feedback that makes everyone’s stories better. Come participate in the workshop. Or, just join us on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm as we conclude the weekend with some participants going to the microphone to share in a relaxing, fun event celebrating our common humanity in a supportive, embracing community.

The cost for the workshop is $40 per person.  University of Illinois students get a 60% discount. To register, pay at our church office (403 S. Wright Street Champaign, IL) by Wednesday, October 18th.   If you have questions, email uniplace at secretary@uniplace.org
