On the first Tuesday of each month, the door is open at UniPlace to neighbors in need. We distribute groceries to those who struggle to keep healthy food on the shelves at home, and as funds are available, also give limited assistance for purchasing an annual bus pass or securing a valid state ID.
Through these simple steps, we support families and individuals trying to stay in their homes when faced with financial insecurity. Making sure a person has dependable transportation to work, school or job interviews can prevent loss of income. Making sure an individual has needed identification to secure a job is the first step toward independence. Supplementing a family’s grocery budget with an extra bag of nutritious food frees up funds to keep up with rent and other bills.
Elders and deacons of UniPlace staff this important ministry where love is put into action and hospitality extended with grace. If you would like to donate to this important ministry, please contact Kim in the church office or make an online donation here through our giving portal.
