On Monday, January 15th from 9:30AM to 3:00PM, UniPlace Christian Church will be participating in the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Nation Day of Community Service. On this day, students and members of the Champaign-Urbana community will have the opportunity to volunteer in our local community while also learning about the importance of community involvement and the life and ministry of Dr. King.
Volunteers will gather at UniPlace Christian Church at 9:30AM and will spend their day volunteering doing apartment remodeling for Three Spinners, an organization which assists local refugees in our community. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to paint and prepare spaces for the UniPlace community Dinner program for the 2018 Spring semester.
Those who volunteer will earn 5 hours of community service, receive a free lunch, and walk away with the experience of giving back to their community by making a difference in the lives of others. For those who are interested in volunteering, click below. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Rev. Chris Schilling at clschilling (at) uniplace.org

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
