Book Drive Success

Hello everyone, I wanted to update you on how our book drive went!

Here is a link to the original blog post about the project if you don’t know about it already: click here

We collected over 150 books in just under 3 weeks for the Dreaam program, Cunningham Children’s Home, and the MLK Elementary School Library. The social work students involved were engaged, driven, and incredibly dedicated to serving the community.

Here is a picture of us delivering books to Cunningham Children’s Home. While there we were given a tour of the facility and provided information about the children they work with, what their days are like, and the incredible impact and attention spiritual direction has in the lives of the children in their care.

The books delivered to them were primarily for middle school and high school students, which means they received an abundance of young-adult novels, action and fantasy, as well as graphic-novels!

Here is a picture of us delivering books to the Dreaam program. With Dreaam residing in our building, the delivery was so easy for us. The children served by Dreaam range from elementary school to high school, which means the books received by them include a wide variety of book genres, types, and topics.

Thank you to everyone who helped us by sharing the project information, donating a book, or keeping us in your thoughts and prayers during the semester. It was such an incredible success and we are sure the children from each organization will be delighted with the new, interested, and specifically-for-them books picked out!
