Dr. Martin Luther King often preached about what he saw as “The Beloved Community.” His vision sought for the reconciliation with those who are different and the creation of a community where people found love, acceptance, and hope.

Given the disconnections in our country today over political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, and gender, Is “The Beloved Community” achievable? How is “The Beloved Community” connected with our own spiritual traditions? And how do we work to create a Beloved Community right here in Champaign-Urbana?

On Sunday, October 22, we will have the pleasure of talking with Jessica Birkenholtz from the University of Illinois who will be speaking with us about Hinduism, its practices, traditions, and beliefs. She will also be talking about her research and answering any questions we may have about Hinduism that we may have.
