A new church facility was needed after the disastrous fire that totally destroyed the former facility Sunday, March 6, 1932. Despite the financial problems of the depression, rebuilding was begun on the opposite corner of the intersection of Springfield and Wright. The Sanctuary was first used on Palm Sunday, April 5, 1936 (as pictured). The Sanctuary seats 450.

The Sanctuary of University Place Christian Church today is breathtaking in both its clean simplicity and dignity. The dark wood, highlighted by mission-style details, is both fresh and uplifting. The 100 foot center aisle leading toward the chancel and the Rose Window are breathtaking.
