About Us
UniPlace is independently governed and has been since 1883. We originated as part of an effort, begun on the American frontier, to rise above the divisive sectarianism and unite all Christians without regard for doctrinal differences. That attempt to unify Christianity continues today among the faith communities that make up the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We are distinguished by our openness to a diversity of beliefs. As a Disciple congregation, and by participating in this network of independent congregations, we gain opportunities to serve locally, nationally, and around the world.
At UniPlace Church,
- We are bound to one another as a caring family of faith.
- We are led to explore and to engage in efforts of justice and reconciliation, by faith.
- We seek to be a witness of the intersection between faith and everyday life as we offer ourselves in service.
- We set our feet upon paths of faith and spirit through learning, reflection, prayer, and worship.
- We are in a church in motion. And, we look forward to walking together with you on a journey of faith!
