Come one, come all to our annual picnic at Hessel Park Pavilion on August 8 at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Hessel Park is located off Kirby Ave between Neil St. and Prospect Ave. The pavilion is at the north end of the park. Church Life will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, drinks, and table service. You will provide a dish to share with the crowd. There is a sign up sheet in the church entryway so we can get an idea of the number of people attending, but you are still very welcome even if you forget to sign up. There is a band playing at the park at 6:30 p.m. for all who wish to enjoy the music or dance. Bring your friendsÑthe more the merrier. See you there.

The Summer Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica was a success! The youth and adults from University Place Christian Church who participated were involved in service, creating relationships, witnessing the work of the church, learning about another culture, and seeing a beautiful and wonderful country. We were involved with four different congregations, three times at one congregation providing children's programs, participating in worship, conversations with Costa Rican youth, and work projects. It was a busy and full itinerary and experience. And, the congregation helped so much to make it happen!

The youth want to share with the congregation what we saw and did. There will be THREE OPPORTUNITIES for you to see some of the videos and photos, as well as hear from the youth.

On June 26, a group of youth will depart for Costa Rica for a Misson Trip.
Let's keep our youth (Cecilia Boyd, Ellie Broyles, Alex Dolye, Anna Freyfogle, Emily Otnes, Susie Reardanz and Tim Reardanz), and their adult chaperones (Terry Ewing, Deb Reardanz and Delre Smith) in our prayers.

This Sunday, June 13 at 3 p.m., as part of the fundraising for Costa Rica, the youth will be offering a Talent Show & Extravaganza, which will be followed by an Ice Cream Social and a tour of the Chapel Windows. Admission will be $5, however there will other opportunities during the Extravaganza to contribute to the Youth Summer Mission Trip.
Acts will include musical presentations by Ellie Broyles, Anna Freyfogle, Emily Otnes, Tim Reardanz, and Alex Doyle. With Guest Musicians Ali and Oscar Lewis. In addition, other acts will include a daring unicycle ride by Cecila Boyd; "Smile!", a bidding opportunity to see who can be made to smile from among contestants; AND a "Rent-A-Youth Auction".
IT'S GOING TO BE FUN!

TWO Fundraising activities are planned to support the Summer Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica. The FIRST will be Sunday, June 6: "The One and Only CARWASH!" Join others, after worship on Sunday, for a "carwash experience".

The SECOND will be Sunday, June 13 at 3 p.m.: a "Youth Talent Show, EXTRAVAGANZA, and Ice Cream Social!" The youth will be sharing their different talents such as piano solos, flute duets, singing, as well as some fun activities for raising funds for the trip to Costa Rica.

Following the Talent Show & EXTRAVAGANZA we will have an Ice Cream Social in the Courtyard. During the Ice Cream Social, the Church Life Team, will offer a chance to see the Chapel windows and and answer any questions. (A video presentation and complete story of each window will be done at a future Church Life event.)
