Service through mission trips are a UniPlace tradition. Almost every year, UniPlace spends a week doing mission work that benefits communities, neighborhoods, and our planet.

This past spring, during the University of Illinois Spring Break, UniPlace sent a group of students to Monterey, California where they spent a week participating in the Blue Theology Mission Station.  The Blue Theology Mission Station gives students the opportunity to learn about environmental oceanic issues as well as the opportunity to explore the spiritual connection we have with the ocean.  Throughout the course of the week, we helped with beach clean ups and sand dune restorations, as well as working with marine biologists in exploring the vast oceanic wildlife in the Monterey Bay.

Our mission trip for the spring of 2018 will take place on March 18th through March 24th.  Check back to learn what our mission experience will be next spring or email Rev. Chris Schilling at clschilling @
